Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine embodies conventional knowledge of health and traditional healing principles to provide individualized treatment plans to meet your unique needs. A root cause approach is used, meaning a thorough intake and health history will be taken in order to determine why you are experiencing your concern. Additional lab work may be used to investigate further when needed. By doing so, your treatment plan will support your body to heal, versus simply suppressing the symptoms.

Naturopathic treatment plans include variations of diet and lifestyle recommendations,  nutritional supplementation, botanical medicine as well as acupuncture, depending on the patient. These types of treatments can certainly be used alongside conventional treatment or medication you may be taking and will always be used in a safe and complimentary way. A collaborative approach will allow for the highest level of care for you!

Holistic Nutrition

Food is the foundation of health and well-being. Food is our fuel. With that said, we all have different needs when it comes to what fuel is truly the best for our body. The latest diet trend might work wonders for your friend, but could be hindering your personal health.

My approach when implementing dietary recommendations for my patients is multi-faceted. I will take into consideration, your health goals, any underlying conditions, nutrient deficiencies, your lifestyle and your favourite foods. Holistic nutrition is all about understanding the whole person and implementing dietary changes that will be the framework for any other treatments added to your plan.

A one size fits all approach does not work for diets. I will help you understand how certain foods can help balance your hormones, regulate your mood, heal your gut and improve your sleep. And spoiler alert… there is more to healthy eating than just salads!

Acupuncture is a treatment option rooted in philosophies originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Combining conventional knowledge of health with TCM philosophies allows for an acupuncture protocol to be best suited to your goals. Acupuncture works by stimulating specific areas of the body, releasing endorphins to support pain reduction and relax the nervous system.

Acupuncture is commonly used for:

  • Stress management and relaxation

  • Anxiety

  • Fertility optimization (pre + post IVF or IUI)

  • Pregnancy + labour preparation

  • Menstrual cycle regulation and hormonal concerns

  • Digestive concerns

  • Insomnia

  • Pain management
